Hi, I’m Emma - Grief Counselor | End-of-Life Doula | Companion in Life’s Hardest Moments

I am a CCPCPR.Cand, grief counselor, death doula, and someone who has spent years walking alongside people in some of life’s most tender and complex seasons.

My journey into this work began at the bedside, not in a classroom. As a death doula and care aide, I supported individuals and families through the final days of life, offering presence, comfort, and a deep respect for the sacredness of goodbye. I’ve held hands, carried out final wishes, and sat quietly when words fell short.

Over time, I felt called to deepen my support. I began formal training to become trauma-informed, learning how grief, illness, and life transitions affect not just the heart, but the nervous system and the whole self. Alongside my training, I’ve personally navigated chronic illness, chronic pain, and seasons of invisible grief — the kind that comes from unmet expectations, identity shifts, and the quiet losses no one talks about.

These experiences, both lived and learned, now shape the way I hold space: gently, honestly, and without judgment.

I offer integrative, trauma-informed grief counselling that draws from narrative, existential, CBT, and solution-focused approaches. I also bring in tools from my work as a death doula, care aide, and Reiki practitioner, offering a holistic approach to healing that honours mind, body, and spirit.

People often tell me they feel seen and deeply safe in our sessions. I’m not here to rush your healing or bypass the hard stuff. I’m here to walk beside you — whether you’re grieving a loved one, facing a diagnosis, holding space as a caregiver, or simply overwhelmed by the weight of life.

My role isn’t to fix, but to hold space — to witness your story with softness and respect, and to help you reconnect with your strength, your truth, and your inner healing.
